    The stands that Norton does with the box themselves works rather well... Glue in the little rubber feet on the bottom of the case NOW they tend to get lost if ya don't, a drop of super glue does the trick...

    The Adjustable holders are not needed they just are handy, try without first and see how it goes ...

    The DMT 325 is the most used piece of honing equipment that I own

    I would definitely recommend as Blix already stated, that you should try 10 light strokes first on a pasted strop and then do regular stopping to try to refresh the razor. If that doesn't work, try 5 no pressure strokes on your 8K and then the pasted strop or just the regular strop. Always do what you can to try a minimal approach before a full honing when possible.
