    Default Moley, Moley, Moley

I'm still waiting for my straight razor to arrive but one thing is worrying me. I have a mole that sticks out on my neck. I am slightly worried of slicing it off with the straight. Does anybody else have a similar problem?

I have several of them on my face... The more "shallow" ones, I shave over. On the one that is at the very edge of my beard, and the tallest of them all, I just go around it. I once tried to go over, but I cut into it... I guess you should decide if you should shave over yours. My smaller ones are maybe 1mm tall...

I have a protruding one right next to my left ear. I just go over it with the blade without any problems. It's about 3mm in both diameter and height.

I have two that are right on top of my jugular. I'm worried about slicing them off and them bleeding alot. I have nicked them a little in the past with my mach3. I've been wanting to get ride of them for a while but I don't think taking a razor to them is the solution.

If I do cut myself I know that my wife won't let me hear the end of it.

Just slap on some styptic powder and pretend it never happened. In any case they're cheap to burn off. I think it's like $20 a pop and a GP doc can take care of it, as long as you don't mind the scars.

Some moles have tails which are internal. My FIL had a mole removed off his leg, concerned it might be cancerous. They took out about 12" of "tail". Kind of creepy. Nothing beats home surgery!

If you are concerned about your moles, here's a trick on "missing" them. Once you have applied your shaving lather, use the tip of your small finger to "dig a hole" in the lather, clearly marking their location. Then, since focus is key, shave around them.

Sorry for the confusion. The mole was removed courtesy of our high Canadian Taxes, by a doctor. The home surgury I was referring to is the idea of taking one off with a razor.

If you want Alien? There is a parasite in Africa that is contracted through open sores and infected water. This bug starts growing inside of your veins, usually in the lower parts of the leg. The bug is basically like a sponge, allowing your blood to flow through, but taking out the nutrients it needs. When it's large enough, it produces eggs and THIS IS THE CREEPY PART, it can sense when you are in or near water. When the time is right, a spikey growth breaks through the skin and the little bugger starts dropping eggs into the water. The most common way to get them out is to grab the spike, wrap it around a twig or pencil and slowly, slowly wind it around the pencil, pulling it from your body. The trouble is that it can take days to pull out since these things are very brittle, so if you are too aggressive, it can break off. The thing dies and rots in your vein.

I can't decide which is worse, that or the little urethra fish that swims up an animals urethra if it happens to pee in the water. Trouble is, it has two barbs that fold out, so you can't pull him out, but they fold down so he can lodge himself up further.

    Sweet Dreams!
