My wife just bought me a straight razor from Straight Razor | Safety Razor | SHAVE STRAIGHT WOOT SPECIAL! | StraightRazor.co and I'm unsure of its quality. It's not the straight razor I had asked for (after over 8 hours of research into straight razors) but one my wife found on her own (after 10 minutes of finding the cheapest one she could). I know absolutely nothing about this one and I'm worried that my first straight shave will leave my face as hirsute as before or worse a poorly shaven bloody mess. Also, I'm nervous about using a straight razor for the first time. My wife thinks I'm going to slice my jugular. Or she's hoping I will, I never know with her...

For your first blade, I'd recommend you visit whipped dog and get the 48 dollar sight unseen special.

For $48 bucks he will send you a shave ready razor (not new but in great shape, not shiny but that doesn't matter here), a poor mans strop kit and the pastes etc you need along with instructions.

If you don't like the razor he sends you, you can send it back to him for 13 bucks and he would send U a different one...

Hmm, maybe the next time your wife goes to buy herself something she needs you should tell her you'll buy it for her and get the cheapest thing possible-Just kidding of course.

That razor will make a good letter opener.

Since you did the research on razors and you let your wife pick it out you need to impart that knowledge you gained on to her.

In the end you get what you pay for.
