Its the little victories that are SO satisfying
Second straight razor shave of my re-try at this stuff, and the first time to strop my razor.
I have the SRD 2" latigo strop with the webbing back.
With considerable trepidation I hooked the strop to my bathroom shelf and gave it a dozen laps on the webbing, and flipped it over to hit the leather for 50. Careful, concentation, not to slow, x-pattern and no pressure. I think I managed to keep the razor pretty much flat on the strop. The blade (2 shaves old from SRD) seemed to cut pretty much the same as when fresh out of the box from Lynn.
I still had to touch upa few spots with a DE, but overall, I'm stoked. The Dovo Best Quality seems like a good size for me (6/8) and the blade geometry / grind make it easy to use.
So, a small victory, but very satisfying and I am pleased to not have rolled the edge or wrecked the edge two days into my return to straight shaving.

And the "little victories" are what add up to big progress.

It's good that you can recognize and appreciate to little victories. So many people focus on what isn't going right that they really discourage themselves. Focus on the successes and it will bridge the tough times.

Congrats. All those little victories will soon add up to a great shave and then they only get better! Keep at and stay focused and you'll be surprised how quickly it all comes together. When that happens, your DE will be for the days you decided to hit the snooze button once or twice.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???
