Thanked: 23You do what works for you. I do a XTG XTG and ATG on my chin line to get a BBS shave.

I'm REAL new to this ('lectric shaver x 25 years), reborn DE/wet shaver x 3 months, SR x 1 month.
What I found using a DE was I had to make multiple passes on a couple areas of my face as the hair didn't' all grow out in one direction. I'd make a WTG pass, XTG, and ATG, and go back and hit it again once or twice. Mostly, with a SR, I do WTG and ATG and call it a day and like the results much more than the DE blade and especially much better than electrics.
Take some time, do a WTG pass, pull out a credit card or business card and rub it across your face in different directions and see where and how you get the most
feedback/resistance.
Thing I'm figuring out here is that this "sport" is a LOT about leisure. I'm tired of hurrying, of feeling in my life like I can't wait for the next thing long enough to fully enjoy the thing I'm doing right here and how that I miss what I'm doing here and now knowing full well the next thing will lock me in the same cycle of feeling like I have to hurry through doing IT to get on to the next thing and, like Kurt Vonnegut would say, "and so on."
I like my face, and like taking care of it. And my wife likes it too.
If I'd known when I was a teenager that I even HAD a T-zone I would have taken better care of it.
