Default Broken Through, I've 'partially' done It!

Yes, I have! I'm. very excited!!!

I am new to straight shaving, and I had all the problems of a new guy. I can shave great in small parts but not the whole face. But tonight I shaved, and it changed...

I know it takes a rather steep learning curve to shave with an SR. But tonight was different...

I have been getting rather discouraged lately. Spending $300 on a single blade (Dovo Prima Klang) and finding out that it has flaws. (the blade hits the scales on the way in or out). Not too shabby for $300 ey? (being sarcastic)

That alone makes me piss mad. But I tried what I learned here. I watched videos, and read so many articles and posts. But...

There were two things that made it seem impossible...

    1) The Neck
    2) The Chin

I thought I could not overcome this. (Past injuries to my hand) and being unsteady. I tried and tried. So much blood shed. But I learned something new I never thought I would.

Don't be afraid of the blade, hey that rhymes!... I prepped my shave and started. But when I got to my neck, the usual hesitance occurred. I tried a bit, then stopped as no hair was removed.

Well, I finally said F**K It, and did it. For the FIRST time, I understand what a 'singing blade' means. I just went for it, I figured the worst was a cut. I scraped along the neck on my left side, the blade hummed away, and when it was done, No Hair! (or nicks). Small step for some, mile high leap for me. I guess you just have to push on through at first. (in my case two white wine spritzers)

I guess anyone really can learn with time. Now to move on to the chin.

And I do truly recommend for those of you in Toronto, or GTA to contact MAXI on this forum. He has been there to teach me so much. Plus gave the blade a super edge.
