congrats! I had many new guy mistakes...and there are times I still get a little heavy handed on the neck.

In all seriousness it does take a confident shaving stroke to achieve a smooth, bloodless shave. Congrats, you're on the way!

Too bad it took white wine to give me that courage to push through though. (I would NOT recommend ANY newbie drink before putting a blade to your face). I know I'm a professional (drinker that is)
But seriously, It's not so much fear, it's unwillingness, I would put the blade to my neck and move down very 'choppy'ish'. Start and Stop sort of thing. Not until I just glided through did it finally shave. If I can learn anyone can. Anyone...
