Razor burn is a symptom and it means you are damaging your skin. First you have to find out what you are doing to cause this. Maybe better prep or shaving products, maybe a different medium for shaving or maybe your technique is way off. If it's a technique thing the problem may only get worse with a straight. So what I would do is first do a better prep and then watch the obvious stuff like angle and pressure and stroke.

Thanked: 10A str8 might not cure it, but once you learn how to shave, it will certainly help. A lot. Bottom line: straight razor shaving is how men were meant to shave. Nothing else will compare. But the most important ingredient in a successful shave is the pre-shave preparation. Keep your face under hot water in the shower for as long as possible. Use the back of your hand to feel when the hairs get soft. Then you're ready to go!
