I thought about using a cinch strap too. A little narrower than I wanted though.

Mine is 2 inches. Tandy had them in 3 but more money than I had at the time. LOL

I mentioned before about my son using his belt as a strop. He came round the other day and brought his razor. It failed the TPT MASSIVELY, pretty much blunt as far as I was concerned. He gave it a few laps on the Shapton 16k (don't think he had time to strop it) but it did demonstrate to me that his stropping method may not actually be doing that much good.
