Default Maas Polish as strop paste

Have any Honemisters ever used Maas, Flitz, or Simichrome on a Strop to Strop with?
and if so what were your results?

I've tried it, but it was back when I didn't know any better. I couldn't say it hurt anything, other than ruining a good piece of leather for anything else, but I can't say it helped, either. I've become quite partial to my HA flatbed hone with the magnetic leather pads...I can have lots of pads and put anything on them to experiment with.

    Joe,

A little off topic but where do you get those magnetic leather sharpening systems from? I presume we are talking about the type used by Bill Ellis in his video?

    Thanks

I think those polish compounds contain some pretty strong chemicals which are probably not very compatible with the longevity of any piece of leather.

Thanks for the replies, I just got to thinking about mesh size and thought a fine polishing paste it might work not taking into account the harsh chemicals contained with the paste.
