Post Shave Lotions
Nivia is a great Post shave lotion, however, like others I've tried, they leave an oily film on my face all day. I saw a thing about Mitchell's Wool Fat hand and body lotion. I shave with Mitchell's Wool Fat soap (and love it) and wanted to know if the MWF hand and body lotion would leave that oily film on my face too, post shave. Looking for feed back on people that have tried MWF H&B lotion, does it leave that oily feel on your face all day and does the MWF hand and body lotion work as well as their soap ? Who uses the MWF H&B lotion that can give me some opinions about it ?

Thanked: 23I have been using Nivea sensitive as lotion for a while now and have never felt the oily film you mentioned even during a hot day. And I have very oily skin. Maybe you use too much product?

Thanked: 4I haven't used any lotion on my face but I do shave my melon (haven't switched to a straight for that yet) and I use Cetaphil. It was recommended to use on my daughter who has eczema and it does work great with no oily residue (and it is pretty cheap)

Thanked: 1195If the other MWF products are as great as their shaving soap, and I've heard that they are, I think they would be a safe bet. I've only tried the shaving soap so I can't personally comment on the others. I do however highly recommend Trumpers Skin Food as a post shave lotion

Gotten "some" feedback on the MWF H&B lotion, but not from anyone who actually uses it. I realize that everything is a personal preferance, but before I purchase some, I was hoping to hear from people who actually use it to see how they like it. I use the MWF soap and love it, that's why I'm contemplating trying the MWF H&B lotion for post shave.

I haven't used the lotion but I tried the bath soap and it's not the same caliber as the shaving soap is, actually it's not good at all and I threw it away after 2 uses. If the Nivea is too much oil for your face hand lotion will be far worse, and I think maybe your a candidate for an after shave milk instead of a lotion or balm. The milk is very light and should give you what your looking for I believe.

TexasRanger,
Trumper's Skin Food is topnotch. I use the Coral version, have been for years, and would never be without out. Institute Karite offers a delightful aftershave balm. I use that, as well. Scottish Fine Soaps also has a quality aftershave balm, which I also use. Truefitt & Hill's Ultimate Comfort (scentless balm) is quite good. Castle Forbes has a superb balm, but it is pricey. Those should do for now.

As Obie mentioned Trumpers is top shelf. I also like the Edwin Jagger line, TOBS are always nice, and also lubriderm 3 in 1
