Thanked: 0Third shave and lovin it.
Hello everyone,
I never introduced myself as a new member of this wonderful forum but have been hanging around in the shadows reading almost nightly for quite awhile now. After countless hours of research I purchased my son a Dovo "Best Quality" razor and attempted to get myself a Boker 'King Cutter" so we could compare the two, however, the Boker was on back order so I sprang for the extra 20 bucks and ordered the Boker "Edelweiss" razor, (what a beautiful razor), from SRD along with a nice brush and a tub of Castle Forbes Lavender shaving cream.... I had purchased Lynn's DVD about a month prior and have watched it many times. Anyway when my razor arrived I couldn't wait to try it out.
I began the ritual by the numbers that Lynn discusses in his video and my first shave went better than I expected. I ended up with only one nick on my chin area. I took my time, (about 25 minutes), but felt very comfortable with the process. I had little or no issues switching hands to shave the left and right sides as I have been giving myself my own flat top haircuts now for about 30 years using both hands in the mirror. Anyway, my first experience was absolutely wonderful. My second shave went even better...... No nicks and the shave felt OK but not quite as smooth as with the old disposable razors. (Sorry to mention the disposables on this forum but had to compare the shave to my old process) I was shaving WTG only.
I just finished my third shave this evening and once again, "No nicks". I felt so comfortable with the process that I decided to shave against the grain and this time on the neck and chin area and WOW, I got a great shave. I feel very fortunate that I was abel to experience nice shaves in such a short time and can only imagine that it will get even better with time. I really wish I had done this years ago. i could have saved a ton of money over the years, not to mention the joy of shaving with a SR.
I'd like to thank all of forum members for your posts. I have learned a lot about shaving here and I don't think my experience would have been the same without all of you.
By the way I love the Castle Forbes cream. It lathers very well and smells great.

Thanked: 0I just read another post entitled "Hey beginners. You can save a whole lot of money" I think RAD must have something to do with "Razor Addiction Disease" or something similar...... Now that's some funny stuff...... Thanks for the heads up guys.....
