    Default Insight on this razor

Sorry if this is a no-no, but I have a few questions about this razor. Red Point Straight Razor

I did a bunch of googling and research and it looks like $50 is a bit much.

Also, what is on the blade doesn't appear to match the box. I couldn't find any Krusius Brothers/Red Point/Utica combos.

At any rate, any insight on good deal/bad deal would be appreciated. Thanks!

We don't do appraisals on SRP but ..... this isn't exactly an appraisal .... so I'll say that the razor is not a 'red point', IMHO it ain't worth fifty bucks and the seller seems confused as to whether it is a Krusis Bros or a Utica. Check out SRP classifieds and you'll usually see some bargain razors in there that are serviceable.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It is not a Red Point razor, the box is Red point. The seller is confused about a number of things, value included.

Thanks for confirming my initial thoughts guys. I might offer him $15 and use it as a practice razor for honing.

Perhaps you'll just upset him. some people have an inflated sense a self worth, as my Mom would say....

I know you didn't ask for my advise, but... why fight with a craigslister when you can buy a decent shave ready blade for half that money at whippeddog.com?

Although no longer full of the $30 or so razors, the classifieds here have a steady rotation of inexpensive, good quality razors for very reasonalbe prices and you know you're dealing with a friendly dude that shares and undestands your enthusiasm. These often have the advantage of having been cleaned properly, and if not shave ready they at least have a good bevel already set.
