Thanked: 0Thanks for the replies to hard green soap, Found new Way
All the replies to my post were so very helpfull, Thanks.
I have developed a new method: Because of the cost to heat with propane, my room & bathroom is usually about 45-55 degrees so it is hard to keep a soft beard. This is my method I have been using (with all the help from 7 of you who replied).
Heat hot water in my cup (almost full) in microvave to almost a boil then place brush in to soak. Next fill large bowl with hot water and heat close to a boil, then place soap, cream and pre & aftershave in bowl. Then get two hand towels wet and place one in microwave for 30 seconds, place on face while the other us heating. Alternate HOT towels for about 5 minutes (gives brush time to soak and enough heating for my face. Set brush in holder, put on warm coat of preshave, pour out all but a small amount of water out of cup, add 4-5 drops of glicerine, add 1/2" cream, Dip brush in bowl water, shake some water in soap, lather up some soap, then make lather in cup, apply with brush the right way, use a sharp razor and shave (using both hands now), re-lather for second shave and I have not cut or nicked myself the past 3-4 shaves, ended up with soft as a BB shave! then take after shave/pre-shave out of bowl and apply a warm coat to the face after a cool rinse.
IT IS GREAT, I LOVE IT! I have coarse beard hair also with a hard grain, but am able to go XTG on the second pass. Thanks again everyone and Happy shaving,
Davidflying
PS: I usually strope my rasor approximently 15 times prior to second shave.
