    Congratulations on your successful shave! I use flexcut gold on some of my stubborn razors, it's a great fast-cutting compound, though it's a bit coarse as a final grit. You might want to try moving to boron carbide after the flexcut. I sometimes go to a very fine (.5 micron or so) chromium oxide after that, but it's not really necessary.

    That's great! It's special to have that kind of history associated with our daily activities. You did well with the honing too. The razor must have been very close to shave ready. My Dubl Duck Special was the same way when I got it.
