    Default Need Advice-Newbie

Okay, so I want a straight and I read the recommendation for a 6/8 full hollow, but which one? Never used a straight before but I am confident I can learn. Does anyone have any specific suggestions on my first razor concerning brand/model? Thanks.

Prunner - Bernando's input is as solid as it gets. With an SRD starter kit, you have zero concern about the shave-readiness of the edge or the quality of the goods. This limits any issues to those of simply learning the techniques.

Truth be told, as long as you stay w/ a quality brand, the specific razor won't matter that much because the issues of technique overwhelm the minor differences. It likely won't be your last blade anyway. The starter kits from SRD, you can buy w/ confidence and focus your attention on the learning. That's a really good way to go.

SRD is deffinatly a great vendor and will give you nothing but quality. Not the nice looking ones you will find at SRD but they shave great!!! goodluck, keep us posted

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I really love the looks of the Dovo Bismarck Red but may try the Dovo Best Blond may be the direction I go. Is that a good start?
