Default Finally achieved ATG without irritation

This morning as I was shaving before leaving for work, I had a bit of an epiphany and was able to do a full ATG pass on my neck without causing any razor burn. Before this morning, I had resigned myself to the idea that ATG was never going to happen on my neck. Every attempt before had met with quite harsh razor burn and ingrown hairs. However, this morning I finally figured out what it means to use no pressure while shaving, and I think my whole shave will benefit.

It's taken me nearly three months to get to this point with my shaves, and I just wanted to post this so that other frustrated noobs can see that things do get better. I had a hard time getting my bearings once starting down the straight-shaving path, and with the initial obstacles out of the way I foresee things continuing to get better and better.

    Congrats on your ATG shave.

It took me a while to get the hang of this as well. The angle to me was the real eye opener. I use little-to-no pressure on the blade and I go ATG on my neck and it is as smooth as a baby's bottom when I am done. No irritation and it feels great. I used the same angle for WTG as ATG and had not such a great experience. Decreasing the angle with ATG (almost flat against my neck, may 5 - 10 degrees) was the trick.

    Congrats and the great shave!
