Just received my new Dovo Best Quality and SRD strop....
I must say, very impressed with the quality and speed of it all. I spent the past week studying up on how to strop, properly shave, and lather till I resemble Santa. I got into SR shaving about a month ago when i picked up a parker SR1 straight razor, it worked so well and took the "fear" out of shaving with a straight razor. From that moment I decided to upgrade and pick up a decent SR and strop.
I unpacked my SRD goodies and began to strop (hopefully proper) my new Dovo Best Quality, let it rest and soaked my brush in some hot water while I showered. Hoped out and did my new usual hot towel prep on my face, followed by some Proraso preshave cream. let that sit a bit and worked up my Proraso green tea lather, then I went to town with the new razor!
It went very well, though a notable difference between the parker disposable blade SR. All in all, very smooth and no irritation.
Pretty I'm hooked, been searching on ebay for some vintage razors to practice my honing skills on.

Thanked: 57Go slow and careful on the strop so that you don't dull that new edge. Almost all newbies, myself included, dull their first blade learning how to strop. Don't worry about learning to hone for a few months until you get shaving and stropping down pat. Now you're addicted... good luck!
