Thanked: 0Where to buy one at Bangkok?
Hello
I've been planning to join this "club" for a while, but now I'm serious about it. I'm currently on a few months trip/travel/vacation at Thailand and thought it would be good time to practice this art, as I have nothing else to do during the mornings - Lucky me.
Now there must be a shop at Bangkok (or possibly Pattaya) that sells quality blades & accessories, I just haven't found one by google or by asking around. Thai men don't shave that much anyway I guess.
So if anyone has any clues or good guesses, please share them.

Welcome to SRP. Lots of great information to be found here, just ask away. You may want to send a PM (private message) to member: ndw76, if I recall, he lives in Bangkok. Hope this helps.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 235A couple of people have PMed me asking about this, so there must be a few people out there wondering the same thing. Where to buy straight razors in Thailand.
Well, unfortunatly, the answer is as far as I know you can't. In the five years that I have been living here the only shaving related stuff I have ever found is the modern plastic multi bladed cartridge razors. All the razors I have have either come from the internet or been purchased at antique stores in Australia.
Apart from craft stuff, like materials for making scales, the only razor related thing I have found in Thailand was a natural stone hone made from the same rock that is used for making mortar and pestles. I don't know if this stone is useful for honing, but it is very hard. I use it as a lapping stone.
But you never know. If you keep your eyes open you may find something that is useful for something.
So if you come here for a straight razor shopping holiday you will be disapointed. But if you come here to enjoy new experiences, learn a new language and meet some great people, then you can have a great time here.
Cheers, Nathan
