Thread: Second shave.... Not bad but not great

First a note: sorry if this is rambling and unorganized. So today I made my second shave WTG and added an ATG pass on the cheeks. Not bad had two small weepers on my neck. I'm using the Williams mug soap(the cheap CVS stuff) right now while I look into a new soap to purchase. My lather leaves much to be desired I get a good batch but it dries super fast. My neck is going to produce a challenge as the hair growth pattern runs horizontal. I need to study ways of getting the razor at it for WTG. All in all though not a horrid shave very happy at the moment with my Dovo shavette. I did find that the blade that comes with the razor was not providing me a good shave I replaced it with a Merkur blade and wow instant change.

Williams soap needs more water to perform. After soaking the puck and brush in hot water I dump out the water and load the brush with soap. When I'm satisfied I have a good dose of soap on the brush I add a little more water to my mug (just a little) and start to whip up a frenzy. This takes about two minutes. It goes from a watery mess to thick lather, enough for a three pass shave. Try it

Gentlemen thank you. I awoke this morning and soaked the puck as suggested as I showered hopped out and dumped the water. Began to work a lather and holy cow!!! Result excellent lather resulting in a delightful 3rd shave. Not BBS but very nice. So again thank you both I do belive I shall hang on to this $1 puck for a bit
