I'll take that pledge. Been using st8 razors for about three years now and haven't been back to disposables, Fusions or any other such crap since.

Thanked: 270Yeah, I had about 40 bad years of disposables, cartridges, and electrics before I discovered DE, SE, and Str8 shaving and it has been a wonderful two years. But I'm kind of like you in that I wondered, with my new-found expertise, if I would get a first class shave if I went back to the equipment that gave me so much misery for most of my life.
I think I'll probably give a Fusion, Mach III, or whatever have you one more try just to see if I have progressed as a shaver and then take the pledge. I never plan on becoming dependent on that crummy stuff again.
Funny thing, though. I've been planning to try one for about the last 6-8 months for old time's sake but somehow never get around to it. The reason is because, I'd skip shaving on the weekend whenever possible so I could shave in comfort on Monday. Tuesday it began getting uncomfortable. Wednesday my face felt chapped and the shaves deteriorated.
