Thanked: 0Remove Logo
I just got my new Basic Dovo, but to my disappointment it says Col Ichibod Conk on the blade. Now this might be a fine company, but the name sounds to me like some marketing gimmick to add some sort of historical/hip vibe that I don't really like. Is there some way to get this paint/etching off the blade without damaging it. Do all basic Dovo's have this? If I would have known this up front I wouldn't have bought it. I saw these on Amazon and avoided them for this reason, and to get a pre-honed ready to shave blade. If I can't Ill try to live with it, but I know eventually I'll get out a dremmel and end up wrecking it

Dovo makes razors for many different retailers. They just put the retailers name on the blade. Conk is an old name in shaving though these days it's a name bought and sold and means nothing. However it's still a Dovo and a quality razor. If you want to take the name off and it's gold wash some metal polish will do that quickly. If it's actually etched you will need something more aggressive and need to remove some metal there.
