Thread: Any members do honing around philadelphia?

I'm new to wet shaving. My razor finally arrived, I bought it on ebay and my strop should be coming later this week. I'm excited to say the least, except my razor definitely needs to be honed. I dont want to send it out since I'd like to get started soon, do any of the members do honing in the Philadelphia, South Jersey or Delaware area? I checked out member services but they all seem to be mail-in services. Also if anyone knows of brick and mortar stores that do it that would be helpful as well.

There are VERY few brick and morter stores dedicated to mens shaving, especially a straight. Even fewer who truly know how to hone a razor. Do yourself and your face a favor, send your razors to one of the pro's here on the classified's. FYI, 98% of the knife shops don't know squat about a razor's edge. A good rule of thumb is if they don't shave with a straight all the time, they don't know how to hone a razor.
