Ist Anniversary Here on the Forum
Well, it's been a year since I started my straight razor/wet shaving journey. Since starting, last year, I've made lots of mistakes but I've also learned from them and I've grown to really love this hobby. I now consider myself a "journeyman" straight razor shaver and can now get a consistantly good shave.
Good luck to all the new guys and as gssixguns says "don't rush", this hobby takes time to learn. Otherwise, your wild enthusiasm could quickly turn into profound disillusionment.Last edited by biloxi123; 03-27-2012 at 04:17 PM.

Alright brother!!! You and I on are an equal par. I started just one year ago myself! We can celebrate our first year shaving with our heads held high!! We managed to stick with it and now it has transformed what previously sucked into something to be savored and enjoyed!!
Congrats man!!
M-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

Over the past year, I've bought 2-Dovo straights, 1-Feather AC,1-Merkur Progress, 1-1963 Gillette Fatboy, 1-1949 Gillette Superspeed, 3-Brushes (VDH, Thater and Simpson), 1-Swaty hone, 1-Illinois Strop with Thiers Issard paste for the canvas side, 11-different AS splashes, 15-different shaving cremes (mostly TOBS). But, probably most noteworthy, is that I've bought a reputation of being an eccentric old coot who has an out-of-the-mainstream hobby......Priceless!
