Ordered my first straight razor ( C'MON Cadillac) from
Atlanta Barber and Beauty Supply Home Page
I figured $70 is an OK DEAL CONSIDERING NOWDAYS PRICES
What do you guys think?

Hello Sergey Looks like you might have a good razor. Send it to one of our "Honemeisters" to get the best sharp edge, and learn to strop.

Hi, it will be good razor after honing! I see that you have Slavic name, if you want I can recommend you very good honing-master in Ukraine or Russia, in case if you live somewhere near, than you will able to save on shipping cost (PM me)!

Btw I'm also prefer to stay away from that shop, and I hope you haven't buy strop from them. But off course it's just my IMHO

I am sensing from the replies that I didn't make a very good choice with this razor ...
I also got Dovo Russian Type XL Cowhide Hanging Razor Strop for $70 .
I might be getting "collecting" bug ...
Last night I purchased Dove Bismark 7/8 ( White Bone for under $200) and Wacker "Antik" ( $329)...
Just couldn't help myself

Wow, quick start. Dovo make good strops and razors you can't miss with them! Now you have really great razors, but still if they sells them just with factory edge, you need to hone them before use.

good point ... ANyone from NY area? Can someone recommend a good places to sharpen a razor in NY?

i don't know any places in nyc that hone razors. there are a couple folks in the rochester area that do though... joed and holli4pirating... you can probably find them and others in the member services area of the classifieds.
