Thanked: 10I was there yesterday!! got home today very tired,, too many people right now,, I recommend you to go to the Nayarit coasts,, not far from Puerto Vallarta, its very nice and if you like the idea of being with your beloved in an isolated beach, some beers, delicious sea food and very few people, those places are perfect,,, enjoy it!!!!

Thanked: 1195Thanks for the advice, ledemon. My wife and I love PV, she surprised me for my birthday next week with a trip. I'd really like to make it north to Riviera Nayarit and/or Bucerias this trip as we've never been there. And perhaps Mismaloya to the south as well.
Sorry to hijack your thread, mate.......

Thanked: 0I go through disposable blades very quickly. A Gillette fusion cartridge is only good for 2 or 3 shaves, if I used them exclusively that would be almost $500 a year. It is not going to be hard for me to save money with this hobby.

Thanked: 0I would tend to agree that you CAN save money using str8 razors over disposables. I get one shave out of the Gillette Mach3, but I shave my entire head with that one use and I only have to shave twice a week. A pack of four is about $20 at WallyWorld, so I am spending about $10 a week in blades which works out to $520 a year. I have bought two str8's off that "bay" auction site that were utter garbage and a third off this site for $55, I bought the Chinese 12k hone for about $20 on the bay, a 4k and a 9k grit hones from a local knife shop and I think I found a use for those garbage str8's...Practice honing BEFORE my good razor needs it. I still want to get a quality strop over the bay sites cheapo, so I am not done spending just yet. But all said and done, I think I am into the str8 setup for about $190. Or in simpler terms, less than HALF what I would spend on disposables over the next year. If you can't save money over disposables, maybe you should seek a psychiatrist to help you with your shopping addiction.
