I did too, at first...now it's fine. Keep at it and you'll be ok. If I can do it, anyone can.

I too was completely lame when shaving with my left hand. One of the other members (Greg you know who you are) talked me into trying it out. I toughed it out and was very careful. Now due to my extra care, I get a better shave with my left hand than my right. I tend to get careless with my right. Stick with it, and you'll do fine.

I also found it awkward at first but now I seem to be better with my left hand... feels odd to shave the left of my face with my right now.

I thought that using my left hand would be challenging, so the first time I shaved with a straight I started with my left hand. I figured that, that would be as difficult as it would get. In the mornings when I start my shave, I still start with my left.
Just keep practising with both hands, in different combinations and grips. There's no right and wrong, but the more comfortable you are with both hands, the more options you have.

i am right hand dominant and like most found trying to us my left awkward. But give it a couple weeks and it is surprising how fast you adapt. Still does not feel perfectly natural but is certainly easier and not awkward feeling at all now.
Funny Johnus cuts himself more on the right I now find that the side i use my left hand is a closer better shave. Maybe it is we concentrate more when using the non dominant hand
