Thanked: 2Hi
Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My name is Jason and I have been lurking for a few weeks now before I joined today. I am Active Duty Air Force stationed in California, and just found straight razors. I like most people justified it to the wife by showing her how much cheaper it would be over the fusions I have been using. I got my first razor this past Saturday and very quickly found out what you guys wee saying about being shave ready. After honing a little and alot of stopping, I used it this morning for the first real time. I also had to explain who beat me up all day when everyone say the 2 gashes in my face. It was completely my fault, didnt pay attention and didnt realize how sharp it was. But the other side of my face was smooth as a babies but all day, so I guess I'm good on my strong side, I just have to learn how to use my other hand better. Any way, I look foward to the community and hope to have something useful to post except how not to shave in the future!

Welcome Jason! I'm new to the site too. I've been using a DE for a few months myself, and have a razor being honed right now. I can hardly wait to get it back and try it! I'm prior USAF, with a son at Keesler right now. Thanks for your service! The cuts will heal!

Welcome to Srp! The good and bad side of this is you have to pay a lot of attention to what you're doing. Personally its more good than bad, as it forces me to not think too much about the day or what's been going on and just focus on the moment. It takes it from a chore to a zen like or enjoyable task, for lack of a better description. I don't like the word zen as I think of gimmicks or facades that people use to make things sound cool, but I can't think of a better description.
