Thanked: 2"No-Sharpens" and Shavettes?
DOVO Shavette vs. Parker SRW/SR1 vs. Feather Artist Club vs. ???
How do they compare? Is there an overall Best in Class? (or maybe "least worst" is more appropriate?)

Thanked: 109I am only experienced with the Parker and it was enough to put me off the type altogether. My skin is abrasion sensitive and because of the clamping construction of shavettes one must use a significantly higher angle on the blade to the skin which for me causes razor burn. My brother has struggled with similar results but not being as sensitive he has developed technique to make them work acceptably.
Many barbers use them if not most but I don't expect to have their level of practice or the advantage which stretching and shaving someone else's face offers.

The new Feather Artist Club SS is a great shaver, quite forgiving and much cheaper than the other Feathers. I got mine from shaving.ie.

The Parker uses half a DE blade, whereas the feather uses a long, stiff blade that more accurately emulates a straight. The Dovo can use both types.
I have only used the Parker type, and it was.. okay. I have never used the other two, but very few people have anything bad to say about the Feather, while opinion on the Dovo is pretty mixed.

Didn't like the shavettes but all Feather razors I've bought where to my liking (RG, SS, DX), very sharp, the easiest razor for me to get BBS and I also shave my head with them. They are however more $$$ then the shavettes.
