    Default First time: No problems...yet

    All,

First attempt today - just the right side of my face and side burn portion only. No nicks, cuts, or other forms of disfigurement. About as smooth as my Fusion so if this is as bad as it gets, I'm looking for good things to come!

Thanks for all the advice on this site and I'll keep you posted.

just keep things slow and if it feels like an un-natural movement, it probably is! (im covered in small scars from when i first started, I wasnt on this site and i pretty much taught myself to straight shave... the wrong way!)

I love to hear good early reports. Congratulations. Pick your own pace as determined by the feeling in your face.

What straight razor you have used, just curiosity of mine.

I'm using the Dovo Best Quality from the Vintage Blades starter set - I really like the feel of it, but don't know the difference between that and anything else since this is my first straight..

If this experiment is successful,I may get something else, but don't know enough to know what else to look for.

Day 2: ventured off the right side burn and onto the right cheek with good results. Lather was a little runny, but no blood drawn.

Immediately after the shave, I re-made some lather to see if I could do better and it accomplished a much thicker product - should have started over the first time.

Will need to continue to practice the stropping, but overall, a good start to the new process.

trust me, it just keeps getting better and better. I have been at it for 2 1/2 years now and I love it more and more each time I shave
