Thanked: 0Any SRP members in the SF Bay Area?
Hi Everyone,
Are there any SRP members in the Bay Area? Just wondering cuz, been practicing honing for at least 8 hours now with out passing the HHT. I can get it to the point where I can cut the hair only if I do a quick slashing motion.
In any case, I went to four different barbers and none use a straight anymore but only with a disposable...
Any SRP members willing to help me out?
Have a great day and God bless.

I'm in Napa and would be happy to help you. Send a PM and we can arrange a time.

Kelly, it really depends on the razor and more importantly. the hair you have to cut. The real test is the shave test (whether it will shave without pulling and just smoothly glide over the skin).

I'm in San Jose but don't know how helpful I could be. I've been useing str8s almost exclusively for some months and have been getting good results but I believe my honing technique has room for improvement. But I wouldn't mind meeting up with a fellow str8 user for a chance to talk shop and compare notes. Anyway send a PM if you're going to be down this way but I would need plenty of advance notice as I'm working long hours these days and I'm only free a couple of Sundays each month.

Thanked: 0Thanks guys. I'm in SF, and don't really venture out to Napa and/or SJ too often. Even if I did go visit either one of you, my two kids would be with me and don't think it would be too safe having them running around while learning how to sharpen a straight...

It's been quite a while since I've been up to the "World's Largest Outdoor Insane Asylum" but if I do I'll try to remember to drop you a line first. It would be sometime in the more distant future as I don't have much need to go up there - HEY! There are antique shops there, hmmm....
