Any suggestions on pressure against the skin and how to tell when it's enough?? Outside from the sight of blood ()

NO pressure. You should think of it as wiping off the lather. The whiskers just vanish. Just a the lightest kiss of a stroke against the skin but with a firmness which will carry it through the hair. Start with holding the blade flat to the skin and then slowly raise the spine up to where it begins to cut. Lower is better lighter is better.

It's tempting (and too easy) to up the pressure when you feel as if your razor isn't cutting the whiskers. However, the only thing that more pressure accomplishes is razor burn.

Also watch the blade angle as well, if I think I am getting too aggressive I lay the heel against my face and then slightly angle it away paying attention to the feel. BC I am curious about your avatar, it has a Masonic look about it but as a Mason I have never seen that particular symbol before.

Thanks Link...I'll definitely try that. The avatar is a Past Master Jewel. There are different variations of look, though. I am the Junior Past Master of my lodge, John S. Davidson #677 Augusta, GA Home - JOHN S DAVIDSON MASONIC LODGE 677 Augusta Georgia Cheers!!
