Thanked: 0My first Straight razors
I have been into DE wet shaving for a long time and wanted to begin with straight razor shaving. After reading around on this forumI decided to buy a older razor and restore it.
I looked trough ebay after nice looking razors and looked up their names to see what quality they were. After missing out on Droescher blue diamond, I continued looking and ending up winning theese two:
Find Vintage GEBR.KORTE Solingen-Germany Blue Steel Straight Edge Razor on eBay Global Buying, with worldwide deals on items in all your top categories
Find G. Baker & Sons Vintage Straight Edge Razor on eBay Global Buying, with worldwide deals on items in all your top categories
Did I end up with a good deal? Or aren't they worth the money spent? Can anyone tell me more about theese razors?
I have also decided to learn how to hone a razor from breadknifed to shave ready (not factory shave ready). I have read some articles but are there any thing I cant go without haven read/seen?

well the baker and sons looks like you can freshen it up and shave with it. But the Korte looks to be well past it's use by date. You can tell not only by the width of the blade, but how far up into the stabilizers the edge of the blade is at the heel. Lesson learned I suppose.

Thanked: 0Yea, I must have been a little to eager there... I realised after paying how thin that blade was, oh well. I guess I can maybe use it for some hone play. It didnt cost much
Yes lesson learned, indeed.
I hope the G. Baker and sons wasnt a bad judgement too, hehe.
