Thanked: 0Edelwiess razor
Hello everyone,
My name is Russell and I'm looking for help determing the age of a straight razor.
Unfortunately, I cannot add a pic of it at this time, but I'm hoping with the description someone can help me.
The box has what looks like Edelwiess stamped on it and on the lid for the box H. Boker & Co.
The blade itself has what looks like (Magnefisierfer Sifberstahl) stamped on it on 1 side and the narrow part of the blade that connects to the handle has 57 Engel/Swerk Soligen-Foche With an angel holding something that is in the shape of an S. The very end of the blade has a small half moon indent in it.
The handle has 2 poeple riding horses with 2 dogs chasing 2 deer through the forest on 1 side and the other side has a cow? skull with a cross on top- a rifle and a cross bow crossed- what looks like a target with 2 speers on top and a picture that could be a fox or dog.
I have visited numerous web sites but can't find anything that resembles the one I have.
W sure would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

I've only seen pictures of the scales you are describing. the box is from a boker edelweiss but that has nothing to do with the Engel razor you have, boxes and razors are often mismatched.
there is an old thread about this razor
here is some other info about CW Engels, in german and with illustrations
all of the Engels razors that have passed through my hands have been FW not the CW
i hope that helps
