Thanked: 1Bwahahahaha!
*Evil Laugh* So without too much effort, I have managed to recruit both my older brother and my father to at least try shaving with a straight razor! Though both of them are pretty sure they will leave the experience dripping blood, they are willing to take the risk! So hopefully I will have some partners in crime as I undertake this new......
hobby?

you have to save the evil laugh until they buy expensive gear that you "borrow" for a long time

Congratulations! I can't persuade my brother to try. He said that he managed to nick himself with mach3 and that with straight razor he will kill himself

Thanked: 1It actually didn't take much persuading. Just all my talking about how nice a shave its supposed to be, once you get past the learning curve, got them interested enough that when I asked they agreed to try. Though they will probably have me go first so they can learn what not to do.

Matt....I'm curious. Did you also ask them to join you in your proposed "Straight Razor Shaving
Below the Belt" routine?
How did that go?

Thanked: 1185I'm taking baby steps with my son, it took me a good 2-3 years to talk him into a DE. I gifted him a 1960 Fat Boy, an Omega Boar brush and some Arko shavesticks back in December. I haven't seen him use any plastic crap for quite some time and he often remarks about the great shaves he's getting from the "Old School" razor. It may be a while before he picks up the straight but eventually I figure curiousity will get the best of him.
I like to think I'm at least relatively competent with a straight razor, I routinely shave my face and head with great, bloodless results however, I would NEVER, EVER consider using a straight on or around my man tackle.Last edited by 1OldGI; 05-13-2012 at 08:39 PM.
