Thanked: 0Ok the salesman advised against the full metal blade as it was stainless steel and would be harder in shaving.
He said it was good when traveling etc but less comfortable for frequent shaving.
So I got the black Dovo diamant instead
First shave ever with a real straight razor, very clean and not a drop of blood!
(wait...does that make me less of a man???)
And yes...wooden handle, I guess I'll survive that somehow.
If not, I'll see if it can be replaced with another one.

Thanked: 94Good looking blade there.
one concern, the salesman said that stainless steel blades are less comfortable to shave with? thats just not true. Hard to hone? maybe, but definately provide comfortable shaves for a long time.

Thanked: 0Maybe he's too sensitive?
I don't know, but I was looking at this one before and it looked real good but more expensive.
Therefore still wanted to full metal one, but I didn't mind at all that he persuaded me.

Thanked: 4942Dovo stainless blades are nice shavers and are not any more difficult to hone than any other razor.
Have fun.

Congrats on your new razor and a great first shave!
I wouldn't worry about the wood scales. I have wood scales on one of my Dovos and they seem built to last.
