Intro...
Hello gentlemen,
at first, I'm really glad to be a member of this place.
I'm a wetshaver since 26 years now, at first with cartridge razors, then DE's and since a year I try to be perfect in straight razor shaving.
It's a very long way to be perfect, but how's the idiom:
"Learning by doing!", that's my motto.
Mostly for my weekend shaves I use a straight, because that is the time when I have enough time
My straight razors are nothing special and I think some of you will laugh when they see it...
That's it for now, a very nice day to all and thanks for being here.
P.S. Sorry, but my English is a little bit rusty, I'll try my best...
Regards from Germany
Thomas

Welcome Thomas
Don't worry about your command of English. It's a lot better than my German that's for sure. We have quite a few members who speak English as their second language and tehy sometimes have some interesting sayings to share from thier mother tongues. It's good to have tis as an international community. Hope we can help. With the shaving I mean.

Hi Tom and welcome to SRP.
Don't worry about your english, it's pretty good and I can always understand what you are saying.
I didn't know you used straight razors, by the way nobody will laugh at your razors no matter what they are. The main thing is you shave with a straight, so that's great.
People are often selling bargains on here, for quite good prices. Look out for razors by Lynn, Joe Chandler, Bill Ellis, Alex (in Europe), and Gary in NZ. When they sell razors in the sales forum, they usually sell pretty fast!

Hi there, Thomas! Welcome!
We're a friendly bunch, and we love to see new members, especially those with decades of wetshaving experience.
To echo what the others have said - don't worry about any language barrier, your English is very good. Much better than my... anything but English.

Welcome aboard Thomas. There are plenty of ESL-ers like us here so don't worry about your English. Some of my best shavers look a bit shifty, so that's not an issue either. I'll get around to restoring them one by one after i finish my current projects. Just dig in, learn all you can contribute from your experience and enjoy.

Same to you Tom. I do have some things in stock at the moment. And we're neighbours afterall. If you need to find stuff to buy let me know. I can tell you where to find some cheap hones (among other things) in Germany itself.

Welcome! Don't worry about how your razors look, only how they shave. My best two shavers are the ugliest of my razors. I won one one this forum and recently one on another. I don't have my honing skill down well enough yet to match the shaves from these two.
