Thanked: 0Came across a Dubl Duck Satinedge?!?!
I was going through some of my dads old boxes and came across a, what looks to be old, razor... It says,
On one side:
Dubl (2 ducks as a picture) Ducks
Satinedge
The other side:
Pearlduck
Dubl (2 ducks as a picture) Ducks
Solingen-Germany
The, in my terminology, handle is a yellowish but still see through color... It has a picture at the very bottom of 2 ducks, and also has "Satinedge" written there too.
Looks to have been kept in pretty good shape... My grandpa was a pack-rat, and my dad was as well... I found it in a box with a bunch of old newspaper articles, coins, and restaurant menu's from different countries.
So can someone give me some insite in to what a stumbled across?!
Thank You!!!

it's a very good razor. Clean it up and hone it and it will last all of your life. The scales are celluloid, just watch for deterioration in them.

Here's a link with all kinds of DD's. You'll find plenty of pictures and have fun looking! http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ffy-ducks.html
And welcome to SRP. Look around and you'll find all kinds of info on Dubl Duks. Search 'scale rot' in the search box at the top of the page, it's good to be informed on it having a DD. I have several DD's and enjoy them very much
Regards,
Howard

Thanked: 0I was thinking about getting it all cleaned up and giving it back to my dad for Fathers Day... I have no use for it unless I can use it to shave my legs... lol kidding of course.

There are women who use straight razors to shave their legs. My wife has enjoyed a straight razor shave on occasion.
Getting it cleaned up to give back to your dad for fathers day is a pretty cool idea. There are people on this site who do restoration work. You can find them in the members services section: Member Services - Straight Razor Place Classifieds

Welcome!
Definitely a great find of a blade... and I am sure that if you or your father arent much into keeping it, plenty of folks around here would be willing to help you part with it.
