    Default Advice for a cut

So a couple months ago when I first started straight shaving I made a mistake and cut myself on the cheek. This is the only bad cut I've ever had so far and it's scarred unfortunately. Now I have an inch scar running almost vertically on my cheek. I was hoping it would heal like other minor cuts I gave myself as I've learned, but it just wont. Do you guys have any tips to help it heal?

I've heard vitamin E oil can sometimes help but I don't know from firsthand experience.

    No tips on healing it,
    But,,
We are the only ones that know you got it from shaving. Women love men with a few scars, it gives you character. Just make up a good story for any women who asks,,, like you got into a shootout with with robbers at the ATM, as you were withdrawing money for a Mother's Day gift. Your Glock ran dry and you had to go to your trusty Buck knife to finish them off. Since there was three of their knives to your one, you got slashed a little.

    Women like brave, scared men.

As Jimmy said, vitaminE oil/cream. It has worked for me for a while. I think the principle behind it is that topical application of vitamin E helps stimulate collagen growth in the area, causing the scar to fill in. Weather this is accurate or not, I don't know. But like I said, it has worked for me.

Vitamin E. With time the scar will fade somewhat depending how bad it was in the first place. I have a decent one on my chin but like I said it has faded quite a bit.

Perhaps the scar has developed into a Keloid,Is there more tissue overgrowth than normal?
What is your ethnic backround? Dark skinned people are more prone to keloids than light skinned people.
    Just some thoughts.

I suggest taking up the study of Kali, or any Escrima. Then you can easily argue that it's a knife wound from either learning or practicing for real.

I might have to start using the knife fight excuse for now xD I get questioned a lot because I've never had cuts. In regards to the post by pixelfixed, I'm Puerto Rican and pretty light skinned. Almost everyone doesn't think I'm hispanic because of my complexion lol. The scar doesn't feel like there's an overgrowth. In fact, it feels like there's a lack of skin growth. Whenever I shave, the scar fills up with cream as if there's a vacuum.

Well, that's good--you won't nick it every time you shave. I'm with Hirlau and the others. Embrace it. Add an eye patch.
