That's cool! Your dad sounded almost as scared as you! I think you did very well, it was obvious how thrilling it was for you. Some pointers:

• Maybe try and get a more oomphy lather. I think your using C O Bigalow, that lathers really well, maybe use more water.
• Get a face cloth, fold it, and place it on the counter bench to wipe the razor on. Good on you for not rinsing it; I don't, but many do.
• Excellent work with the short strokes, but there were a few areas you went over too often. You'll get some razor burn from that!
• EVERYONE felt as awkward using their 'bad hand' as your little brother calls it as you seemed to. And you're right, your hand gets in the way of the vision. You DO need to do parts of your face blind as you say (as least I do). I'd keep using the method you used if I were you, it looked good to me.
• Make sure you dry the razor, and maybe give it a light oil, Eucalyptus is what I use.
• Don't shave for a few days.

Your little brother's comments "he's gonna cut himself" were classic!
