Ive been lurking a few years and finally decided to join SRP. First, I'd like to mention that the information here has been a top notch resource in my endeavours to learn the art of the Str8, thanks. I bought Lynn's DVD a few months back and it has also been a great reference.
The primary thing that brought me to wet shaving (besides an interest in things traditional) is the artistry of the Str8. I have used a safety razor for a year or so and decided within 2 shaves that I would never go back to cartridges if I could avoid it. I even took my Merkur HD to Venezuela with me in July.
Last week I recieved a beautiful 7/8 Revisor in a trade and could not pass up trying a full shave with it. Now I havent had much luck with the 5/8 razors that are in my line up (granted, they still have the factory hone on them) but this Revisor was something else. It was stroped on an heirloom paddle and put to work. I completed the shave and didnt get nicked once. The shave was not super close, but it was good and I was pretty stoked. So there is the motivation for getting on line and signing up here. Looking forward to learning more.
