Glad I could help out, that spot baffled me for a month (as well as drew lots of blood).

+1 --exactly what I do to get the Adam's apple skin on a flatter part of the neck. I'll add that you can do the same trick with your jawline skin. Instead of pulling down on the neck skin, I get a good grab of the skin on my cheek under the eye and stretch up. This brings the jawbone and some of the neck skin up onto the flat cheek area and allows for clean shaving without needing to maneuver on the ridge of the jawline. Open your mouth while doing this and you'll get even more of your neck skin on the cheek flat. You might try that too.

You're the only one who can legitimately say if there's something wrong with using a safety razor in tough spots until you learn or even after you do learn but are in a rush. I think most people, myself included, would say there is nothing wrong with it. I suppose purists would criticize you for not using a straight all the time, but then again they probably live in an electrically powered houses with running water and could be criticized as not being all that vintage purist themselves. My neck hair grows in swirl patterns to where all I can do are two somewhat XTG downward passes and one upward more or less ATG-XTG pass to get it smooth, but this often times results in some razor burn. If my neck is particularly sensitive or rashed up one day, I'll use a safety to give the skin a rest. Personally, I'd rather have a clean-shaven neck than stubble or razor burn all because I refuse to use a safety.

Hey guys. Just wanted to update. I took everyone's advice and now a little under a month later, I can shave my neck Good. What' works for me is doing a chocking stretch from the bottom of my neck and adding a "half swallow" let's my neck become a flat surface, and from there I do my diagonal strokes and get the job done. Can't thank you guys enough

    Chase
