    Default First Straight Razor Shave...

Picked up a Dovo this week and just completed my first full shave. Shower, hot towel, Castle Forbes preshave, Castle Forbes shaving cream, Castle Forbes aftershave balm. Felt amazing and my girlfriend can't stop touching my face. Perfect Sunday shave...now I just have to learn to hone this thing...

Congrats on the first shave! You are well on your way.

As to the honing... it is generally suggested to wait a few months before you learn to hone. There are a great many things to learn about just shaving, let alone honing. But, there it's plenty of info here to help you with that endeavor regardless.

Wow first shave? Congrats. Girlfriend touching face Congrats.

Honing isn't difficult it just takes practice.

    It just keeps getting better.

Congrats on the success of the shave and I hope the second thing leads to bigger and better touching.
In any event, I applaud your willingness to learn the fine art of honing- something I will not consider; a man needs to know his limitations, and I do. Four things to do before you get starting on your honing trail: read, read and read and then buy a old beaten razor and practice on that.
Continued good luck on both fronts.
