Found A Great Price for a Pure Badger Brush!
I was at my local target last night and found a Pure Badger Brush for $9.99 It is made by Van Der Hagen. I know a lot of people starting out are not looking to spend a fortune and some of these brushes are expensive. My first one was from Wal-mart and was a boar hair. This is a nice brush for the money. Photos Below.

Yes, but not all Target stores carry them. I've kept an eye out down here for a year, guess I'll just have to order mine on line.
Thanks for sharing yours.

Ahh. I didn't realize that. I didn't know if it was something new they had just started carrying. I was out and went by another target that was close to me, they didn't have that brush but had a different badger brush made by Shea Moister.

Our target doesn't carry it. We're getting to a point were there isn't any store that carries any type of a razor blade. The injector went 1st, then the SE, now the DE's are being discontinued.

For a cheaper badger brush, you might also look into Larry's selection at whippeddog.com; he has 20mm "pure" badger knots for $10 and resin handles for $6, or he sells an assembled brush and soap kit for $18. If I had to order a cheap badger brush from an online store, I'd probably spend the extra money and get it from an SRP member and fellow straight enthusiast rather than from Target--heaven knows if that brush is even genuine badger.

Pure badger is really entry level and commonly can be had for 15-20 bucks just about anywhere and in a better brand will not shed out and thus last much longer.

Thanked: 0I found a silver tip brush made by Parker for about a third of the cost of most silver tip brushes at AOS and other retailers...and just as nice of quality if not better than some of the other retailers. Haven't lost a strand yet and I've had it for over a year. Brings a lather very quickly and holds it for quite sometime. I can do multiple passes on each part of my face without having to re-apply soap or cream. Sometimes I just need to dab it in a little water and it's ready to go.
I found it on Amazon, it sells for about $60, and qualifies for super saver shipping and comes with a stand as well. Nothing special, but it keeps the brush dry.

That's good pricing on Silvertip. I found it to be a little on the soft side, so Best is my preferred grade. For travel, I have a synthetic Wilkinson.. Dries quickly and does the job in a pinch.
