Thanked: 0Great first shave, but...
So I just got my straight from Classic Edge last week, a Wapienica. I used it just for my side burns, it was perfect, so smooth, actually looks like I shaved, not a single cut to my face.
However while I was trying to get to the top of my sideburns, but was afraid I would shave off some of my eyebrows, but instead clipped my ear. I cut a 5mm gash that took about 20 minutes to stop bleeding, even with the use of a stypic pencil. Whoops. I think I will have to let my sideburns grow further down.

Yeah, those ears can be real bleeders. I have a Boker King Cutter that I swear has a hate on for ear lobes.

The standard advice for beginners is to start out by shaving the easy parts with the straight razor , and use your regular razor to finish the shave . That way you can get the feel for the straight before you start to take on the trickier parts .
