I'm trying to build up the membership
Last night at work I gave the security guard (an off-duty cop) the Imperial straight razor that I won here awhile back. He's very interesting in straights and the whole mystique behind it. Gave him Tony Miller's webaddress for strops, etc. He's been lurking here awhile he tells me, so I hope he'll be posting one of these days. He's on a pretty tight budget, as he and his wife have a lot of debt from fertility therapy. They do have two very cute little girls to show for it though!

Then it was worth it and they will appreciate their kids more. Now imagine what that guy will be spending on razors

I'm converting a friend and am currently 'working' on a colleague at work. Sounds like we're in a cult (pssst... wanna buy "Holy Sinkwater" blessed by the Grand Badger Abrams? ).
Will give my friend one of my razor I managed to hone shave ready and get him a strop (he's also in debt right now) and my colleague already has razors!!!(collected them) So I'm going to try and convince him to take up shaving with them.

I convinced my next door neighbor to get her fiance a set from The Well Shaved Gentleman for Christmas.
And I got some ebay razors in an auction one of which I'll hone up and give to my brother-in-law for Christmas along with a mug and brush and one of my strops

My instruction sheets and my eBay shaving related auctions all carry a link right here to SRP and I steer every potential customer who calls me here as well.
No matter what or where they buy or are given items from this is the place they need to be!

I'd be happy to purchase one of Tony's starter strops for him and cover the cost of shipping, so that he can see how he likes straight shaving. Also does he have soap a brush and a mug already. If not I may be able to help with part of that, I'll have to check with a few of my sources on their current pricing

He mentioned that he might pick up the Surrey set (mug & soap & brush) at Walgreen's. I think it's around $8. He's scheduled to work w/ me next Tues. & Wed. nights, so I'll find out more then. He was absolutely thrilled to get the straight razor.

I can currently only report a partial success with my friend He likes the whole wetshaving part but the straight seems weird to him... I think he just doesn't want to strop and do all that every time. Maybe I should try to give him a DE first and then steer him to a straight again?
He did comment on how incredibly smooth his chin was (did a straight shave with him last night) so I guess I'll keep using that as leverage.
