    Default Noob Question here

Im using a Dovo 5/8 best quality and it seems that i get one side of my face smoother than the other. Should I strop during a shave?

Try stropping mid-shave a few times.

    . . . It'll either improve results, or not.

A cheap experiment, and the results are worth more than our collective advice.

    And please report back!

Hi welcome to SRP! The one side being closer is a common problem and is mostly a technique issues. Most people shave there dominant hand side closer at first do to it feeling more natural. It should go away as you get better.

I found that when I used my non dominant hand, left hand, to shave the left side of my face the result was not as smooth as the right side. Are you using both hands? It took a while for my left hand to get up to speed on how to shave.

I am the opposite. My non-dominant hand shaved side usually feels smoother than my dominant side.

I'm the same way. I figure that when I use my non dominant hand I am less sure with my stroke and pay a little bit more attention to my technique.

First of all welcome to SRP

Your issue sounds very familiar to many of us here, hopefully yours is a fairly simple one to fix

The answer would appear to be what JSmith1983 and Theseus have said.
Slow down and pay more attention to your technique, your results will get better because of it.

Take some time to read the many shaving related posts here, and ask any questions you have about the art

As has been said by one of our esteemed members here ... have fun
