First foray into a better soap? Tabac puck...
So I found a puck of Tabac shave soap "on sale" for $15 bucks and free shipping. I'd read so much about it that I bought it and can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning!

Most I read love it , a few don't. I liked it pretty well though it has a strong, to me, fragrance. Lathers well and gives good slickness and cushion though. Enjoy it.

Good choice!
Tabac is one of the top performers out there, people seems to have a love/hate relation to the scent, I'm a lover myself.
If you find that you don't fancy the scent, don't give up on it at once, give it a few tries first, many, myself included, have found that the scent grows on you. And if you still don't like the scent, but want the same performance you can try get some Irisch Moos, it's the "same" soap with a different scent, it's unfortunatly discontinued, but there are still some to find.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .

Thanked: 5Good choice. Tabac is a really nice soap. Irish Moos is still available in soap stick form and is readily available in the UK and Europe.
Don't be tempted by the Irisch Moos cream though - it's not the best cream out there IME and smells terrible.

Okay! Shave 1 with the Tabac is done. And I did 3 passes. It smelled great (I guess I liked it) and it lathered REALLY easily. Most importantly, that lather really did give anice glide to the balde. And I hadn't shaved yesterday, so this was over a day's stubble, too.
I normally wear a goatee and last week shaved it off to learn how to use this razor properly. And even on my chin (which is kinda' sensitive), it didn't bother me at all!
Could be that the Tabac corrected for my really bad (still learning) technique, but if that's what it takes, then I'm all for it!
