Default 3rd shave and did the whole face with straight razor

I was very pleased with myself that I managed to do the whole face (with the grain) on my third shave (no nicks).

I have noticed how much easier the sideburns and jaw are now to shave. I can't believe I am actually enjoying shaving, and almost willing the hair to grow back so I can have another go.

I know most guys will congratulate you but I'm not going to do that. I would suggest that the first several shaves are for acquainting you and your skin to the razor and the shaves should be taken one step at a time. Now of course you might be one of those guys who take to straights like a duck to water but for most if they get ahead of their skill the razor starts to bite to remind them. Think of straight shaving like a construction project. You need a good foundation to progress to the more complicated maneuvers. Otherwise, you wind up having to unlearn bad habits which is very difficult.

So, just slow down and you will enjoy the shaves even more over the long haul.
