Default My first straight razor shave

My razor [from Joe Chandler] arrived today. I just attempted my first shave, it didn't go too well I nicked myself 4 times just doing one side of my face [no neck] I must say were I did shave it feels very smooth. My question is can I try again tomorrow or does my face need more time to heal. I don't want to re-nick an old nick.

As another noob waiting for my first razor in the mail, I have to say bravo, I am jealous. Out of curiosity and concern for my sweet cheeks, what would you say caused most of your nicks? Just general unfamiliarity, wrong angle, etc?

I don't think I was holding the razor correctly, and maybe I was moving a little to fast. The cheek that I did shave really feels smooth dispite a little blood.

Well i had a go the other day and got one Nic, but i think the main problem for me was that i did not take my time and prepare good, My best bet is that do it first time on a friday night or Saturday so you get a couple of days to fix up those cuts Also set aside an hour or so to do it properley and look over all of the last minte things before starting such as where to pull the skin from and stuff.Oh Well done, smooth as a babys bottom
